We are going through one of the toughest phases faced by the modern world. The novel Corona virus has created a panic among us like never before. And our fight against this pandemic is also quite strange.
We are all required to stay at home, distancing ourselves from social interaction.
While this makes fighting corona virus that much easier, it has undesirable side effects to us mentally and physically. We are all applying sudden brakes to our regular fast paced everyday living to lead a boring and sedentary lifestyle.
It can be tough mentally, to adjust to the stay at home lifestyle.
Meditation is a known a stress reliever. Practicing it daily could make it easy for you to deal with the “corona times”.
Here is a meditation technique to keep you all calm cool and relax during this quarantine.
Step 1: Sit comfortably.
Step 2: Imagine the following, one by one. (Take an inhalation and an extended exhalation every time you relax a body part.)
Keep your whole body relaxed.
Relax your shoulders, relax your fingers, relax your hand totally.
Relax your chest, relax your stomach, relax your buttocks,
relax your thighs, relax your knee, relax your calf muscles,
relax your ankles, and relax your toes.
Relax your mouth, relax your eyes,
relax your eyelids and relax your body totally
Step 3: Bring attention to your breathing.
Observe your breath closely
Let your awareness totally on your breath.
Then you will find that there is a gap after inhalation and before exhalation.
Likewise, there is a small gap after exhalation and before inhalation.
Observe that gap closely, then it starts to become longer and longer
Bring your awareness back to your breath.
Step 4: Slowly bring your awareness to your surroundings
Step 5: Slowly rub your palms.
Step 6: Place your palms on your eyes (Repeat 3 times), and slowly open your eyes
Do this every day, either in the morning or in the evening and you will feel a sense of calmness seeping into your mind.
